COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Medical Terminology Course teaches students the vocabulary for describing the human body and its conditions, components, and processes in an accurate scientific manner. The course follows a systematic approach to term comprehensions & word building by using the concept of Word roots, Suffixes and Prefixes. The word root determines the source language of the word and most of the time describes a body part. The suffixes are added to the end of word root to add further meaning to the condition, procedure or disease process. The prefix is added to the front of the word root to give additional information about eh organ like, location, time involve or number of parts. Decoding the medical term is crucial for the student to succeed as a medical coder.
